As a company, Central has been established for almost 35 years. During that time it has grown to it’s present status as one of the leading taxi and private hire companies in the region. We currently carry a fleet of over 50 vehicles including wheelchair-accessible five-seater TX1 London Taxis, wheelchair-accessible eight-seater mini coaches, a top of the range chauffeur driven Mercedes, and a newly acquired sixteen-seater midi coach. Central can happily fulfill all your travel needs, from a short shopping trip to town to a family outing to the coast. All our office staff are fully trained in the use of computer booking systems specifically designed for our business which transmits booking information direct to our vehicles – speeding up response time, eliminating operator error, and providing our customers with quiet, professional service. Our drivers are all professionally trained, police vetted, and wear full company uniform, and all our vehicles are fully valeted on our own premises on a daily basis. Much of our business is conducted with major corporate customers. These include many major hotels and businesses in the area, North Yorkshire County Council (Central currently hold 26 schools transport contracts which are completed on a daily basis), Harrogate and Leeds Social Services Departments, the BBC, Yorkshire Television and Harrogate Health Care. Our contract with Harrogate Health Care has been in force since the formation of Central almost 35 years ago, and can include anything from the transportation of hospital staff to the collection/delivery of urgent blood supplies around the region. However, our drivers are just as happy taking housewife Mrs Smith to Asda, as they are taking Managing Director Mr Jones to Gatwick Airport.
